The Escape gin is a lovely gin - can really taste the IPA flavours in there, and compliment one another. Great fast delivery from Bristol Dry Gin too.
On the nose, distinct hoppy aromas alongside fresh piney notes. Very subtle citrus and grassy notes..
To taste, there's the citrus! Fresh, fruity flavours alongside juniper and mild bitterness from the ale. On the finish the hops carry through and there's a slight tingle from the spices.
Although delicious neat, it's with tonic where this gin properly opens up. The hoppy bitterness is toned down but still present whilst the citrus elements open up, for me it's the grapefruit in particular.
As a non beer/lager drinker I was sceptical if I would enjoy this. I needn't have worried though as the ale elements blends beautifully with the tropical gin. I now can't wait for their next collaboration.
